About Aman

The child digital safety compliance partner for UAE schools.

Provided by VDR Tech Limited in the United Arab Emirates. Aman enables institutions to meet their child digital safety obligations and to evidence compliance.

Why Aman exists

Regulation has raised the standard for child digital safety.

Federal Decree-Law No. 26 of 2025 established child digital safety as a matter of UAE law, imposing binding obligations across the digital ecosystem. Together with the established ADEK and KHDA frameworks and the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, it raises the standard that every institution responsible for minors is expected to meet — and to evidence.

Meeting that standard has typically required one of two approaches: a foreign provider built for another market, whose default standards may not reflect local requirements and whose data is held outside the country; or internally maintained documentation that is difficult to keep current and complete. Aman provides a considered alternative — a managed compliance service that implements the required controls, operates them on the institution’s behalf, and maintains the supporting evidence. It is built and hosted within the United Arab Emirates, with the protection of students as its objective and demonstrable compliance as its outcome.

Regulatory alignment

Mapped to the regulations — and to the evidence each requires.

The Child Digital Safety Law, the ADEK School Digital Policy, the KHDA digital wellbeing framework and the UAE Personal Data Protection Law converge on a consistent expectation: effective controls, demonstrable oversight, and a record that can be produced on request. A single Aman engagement addresses these requirements and converts each into evidence available for inspection.

This mapping is indicative rather than exhaustive. The same frameworks also require published responsible-use policies, data-protection plans and incident-response procedures, which Aman provides alongside the operational controls. A complete mapping against your institution’s authority is available on request.

Coverage beyond the perimeter

Consistent protection across mixed devices — extending beyond the school perimeter.

In environments where students use personal devices, software cannot be installed on every device. Aman applies protection to each device on the institution’s network from the moment it connects — across iPhone, Android, Chromebook and laptop alike — under a consistent policy and compliance posture.

Where an institution requires protection to extend beyond its perimeter, coverage can continue on a student’s personal device. The privacy boundary is preserved: the institution receives safeguarding indicators, not visibility of a student’s private out-of-school activity.

Parent visibility

A controlled view for parents — included in every engagement.

Parents increasingly expect insight into their children’s online activity during the school day. Aman provides a controlled, curated view — activity, alerts and aggregate measures — without exposing message content or browsing beyond the scope of safeguarding.

The institution issues access per student, with no account administration required on its side. Visibility is provided in a manner that builds trust while remaining proportionate and consistent with data-protection requirements — included in every engagement.

Data residency & sovereignty

Institutional data remains within the United Arab Emirates — in every deployment model.

Deployed to suit the institution

Cloud, managed service, on-premise or virtual deployment — the compliance outcome is identical in each model, allowing institutions to select the most suitable approach without compromising protection or evidence.

Sovereign by default

Records are retained within the United Arab Emirates, consistent with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and ADEK data-protection requirements. Data is never sold, shared or transferred abroad.

Isolated per institution

Each institution’s data and policies are maintained separately, with no shared pool and no cross-institution exposure. Records remain exclusively the institution’s own.

Protected and access-controlled

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, backups are secured, and administrative access is protected with multi-factor authentication.

Principles

The commitments that govern our service.

  • Protection of the student is paramount. Compliance establishes the baseline; the safeguarding of students is the objective. The service supports professional judgement; it does not replace it.
  • Evidence over assurance. Every action is recorded and available for inspection. Compliance is substantiated through documentation, not assertion.
  • Privacy by default. The institution has no visibility of a student’s private out-of-school activity. Privacy is preserved by default.
  • Built for the United Arab Emirates. Standards, regulatory alignment and data residency are native to the jurisdiction, not adapted from another market.
  • No administrative burden on the institution. The service is operated on the institution’s behalf, requiring no configuration or maintenance by its staff.
